They should be embracing the hybrid technology that really increases fuel mileage vs an infrastructure that isn’t available.

When i can travel over 500 miles is a gas operated large SUV before even needing a refill as opposed to very POOR mileage and at least two recharges if Your lucky then a third to go any further, loss of 40 to 50 miles on that it's too hot or too cold. There is also the danger of fire and local fire Departments have responded to those EVs burning because it was raining and it took as much as 6 to 8 hours to put the fire out. Also You can't always count on the chargers even working let alone be available and needing road service or towing. Using an electric charger in rain or having to park in a puddle, Do You actually think that is safe ? Hmmm, a fair weather only charger (for safety) and maybe have less chance of Your car burning ? ALL the batteries in the electric vehicle are hazardous waste and even mining to components for these batteries does major damage to the environment.

I'm NOT against research but what is available currently is neither safe nor practical and if the system fails without catching fire after not even reaching 100,000 miles look for thousands of dollars to replace. Hybrid vehicles on the other hand gasoline use can recharge the electric system while being used and also refueling isn't needed very often and perhaps as much as 50 miles use to a gallon of gas. Thus far they actually seem to be effective and can be used and as far as I know the owners are actually happy with them and they don't seem to pose any extra risk. It seems at least hybrids (which use some gasoline) and regular gas operated vehicle allow travel without many delays and risks such as with electric vehicles. Often if road service is done a gas operated charger needs to be used (esp if an electric charging station is neither available or even working) and most power stations operate on fossil fuels to generate the electricity in the first place.
