A covid death benefits the medical arena. They are only looking at that.

Hey LTC Brown...
I enjoy reading your posts when I am on Rally Point! I certainly want all Vet's to receive what has been provided. In this case, we will have B&W cases, we will also have many cases where it is 'gray' and yet the money will be spent. I am not sure that any person who ever wore the uniform would expect that a disease, not associated with their service, would compensate the family when they passed away. Yet, that is where we are today. I am sorry for all who have lost loved ones to this virus, every single one, Veteran or not.

I do know by family experience that there was financial compensation for hospitals that placed COVID-19 as the reason for death. This person had cancer, and had it for some time, yet on the death certificate, they put COVID-19. The push-back was immediate and they changed the reason for death on the death certificate, under threat of a lawsuit.

We are into this pandemic for circa 14 months now, yet we have people making these decisions in Government that really are not based on science, rather on the need, the want, the desire to be helpful. This is just another one in a long line of monetary expenditures that have placed our country in jeopardy, the one you served decades to protect and defend.

Again, enjoy your posts! Thanks for the avenue of feedback! You were simply sharing what is in place.

We are in jeopardy. I am aware of a couple of cases where Covid is listed as the cause of death for a person who had a chronic disorder/disability due to military service. Family is now battling the cause of death

That’s not surprising! On the one side, people who truly need and deserve help, and on the other side people who simply were not in the same situation. It is a good point you make. Perhaps the families will be taken care of, as intended. I hope so!
