BNSF Recruitment

So this is a BNSF Railway Recruiting Video from 4-5 years ago geared towards Military Recruitment. Thought I would post here as the railroad industry prefers military hires (especially Infantry) for operations. Reason being is railroads like the military are very rules and regulations based, regimented "do what your told" type work environment. Operationally as described in the video you can get a desk job like dispatcher and they will train you for it or in train operations (where your outside in all kinds of weather - like Infantry). They also explain Railroad Retirement and how that will remove you from Social Security though the Railroad Retirement system is better funded and Congress does not borrow money from it like they do Social Security (kind of mentioned in the video that it is a better system). Why do they do that? Because Railroad Retirement benefits preceeded the founding of the Social Security System and it was a better system way back then as well and the Unions fought to keep it vs downgrading to Social Security so Congress grandfathered it in. Anyways great video if your in the military and thinking of leaving or now looking for a job. I do not know the availability of these jobs with the pandemic but railway traffic is recovering nicely from the pandemic recession so if the jobs are not opening now they will be next year.
