Bob Marley, Feb '45 - May '81: Bob Marley was a musical pioneer who brought Reggae out into the Mainstream. He sang about the plight and treatment of the African slaves taken to Jamaica, including the descendants of those slaves, by British Colonialism in the mid 1600's through 1962 when Jamaica gained independence. His music is legendary for it's distinct beat and his "social commentary".
