This is the most asinine traffic pattern I could've imagined... instead of putting a gate north of Butner and one south of Knox to unify East Bragg with main post, they've diverted all access through Randolph. They opened Butner, but it still gets congested at the bypass exit for Randolph, and you still have to cut through a housing area or go off post to get from the Butner area to get to East Bragg.

Interesting, I was down to Bragg a couple weeks ago and there was the ever present construction work going on. Not living in the area I don't keep up on the different things going on road work wise. It sounds like a good thing, long over due.

SFC Kevin C., I miss Bragg. I had some good times there. I'd like to see the new road when it's complete. I probably won't recognize it.

SGT (Join to see) - I retired there in 2005, and now live a couple hours away. We used to go down every other month to go to the commissary. My son is stationed there now so we still get there every so often. I tell you the place has grown, even in the 11 years since I retired. They have been building all over the post!

SFC Kevin C., It was a small country type atmosphere when I was there. Bragg was large, but downtown and around the countryside was about as country as you can get. I can't decide if Campbell was prettier than Bragg. I loved the weather in both places.

Well it's not a countryside atmosphere any longer. The area is growing all around Bragg. I tell you I didn't care for the it at Bragg all that much, it was nice because of it being close enough to go to the beach but that's about it for me. I was stationed out at FT Lewis for 7 or 8 years and love that area. Cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, close to the ocean, rain forest, and if you like desert that's further east. Loved the view of MT Rainier from about anywhere you go. But FT Lewis was bad for traffic if you had to go up to Seattle the traffic could be a parking lot at any time.
