I know a lot of people want their loved ones remains returned but I am not sure that's the right thing to do. I think that 1SG Javier "Elvis" Martinez 's idea has merit

A ship that goes down with crew and passengers is generally considered a grave site. We do sometimes move remains and graves but usually with good reason.

To the extent that there still are remains there is not going to be much left.
