California's largest teachers union spent $1 million a month to restrict charter schools

Looks like their collecting too much in dues. Reduce their dues and teachers all receive a pay raise. My grand kids go to a Montessori school. It is expensive and my grand kids are brilliant and light years ahead of where I was at that age. I am a product of public schools and had great teachers. Part of it may be genetics but I am convinced much of it is the school and teachers. My grand daughter was just tested this year at the age of 11 and didn't test below 9th grade and actually tested as a sophomore in college in one area. If they were to go to public school they would remain bored for at least 3 years. Public schools need more competition not less. High standards are only a threat to the poorer teachers.

Teacher's Unions have destroyed American education. Unions and over regulation by the federal government have crippled an entire generation of young people and eroded schools around the country.
