Solving a decades-old problem, a multidisciplinary team of Caltech researchers has figured out a method to noninvasively and continually measure blood pressure anywhere on the body with next to no disruption to the patient. A device based on the new technique holds the promise to enable better vital-sign monitoring at home, in hospitals, and possibly even in remote locations where resources are limited.

That's great but I don't know if my blood pressure can handle knowing what my blood pressure is

Looks interesting. Invasive Arterial pressure lines not only monitored blood pressure but you could draw atrial (blood from an artery) blood to measure oxygenation,acid/ base balance and ventilation ( removal of CO2 from body). While this device will help with people where it is difficult to obtain B/P automatic B/p cuffs work very well.
