While we have issues with American Indians that is turning into a tragedy in North Dakota, we have this oil infrastructure in Canada. The new Socialist Premier (she won also similiar to a Donald Trump Protest Vote) is having issues with the Green/Enviromentalist lobby on social license even with $2 billion in CO2 capture. You would rather buy oil from Iran, Iraq and Venezuela who burn everything (Co2) but no oil from Canada? Double Standard!

Tar sands oil is especially nasty and damaging to the environment, if we can leave that stuff in the ground we all win.

SSG (Join to see) - We have reduced consumption. My wife's 306 HP V6 2015 Dodge Challenger 8 speed Automatic gets 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg highway and its true a mileage not some DOT pie in the sky mileage figure. A similar car in 1970 would maybe get 12-15 mpg highway and have about 10 x the emissions too. We just have a growing population.
We have cars that get 33 mpg highway at 75 mph that have 250 hp! Some can do over 40 mpg. The new dodge pickup with my wife's engine can do almost 20 mpg highway.
We are making improvements. We just have 6 billion people on this earth and some are still slash and burn farmers. Some places like China still have stage 3 smog alerts while California and other places are now way cleaner.
Kirkuk Iraq has about 6 of these burning H2S 24/7 and making C02!

We have to use fossil fuels we can't be like the province of Ontario that shut down its coal-fired plants and put in wind farms and solar and their energy bill tripled. We have to transition and a slower way. The technology is catching up. Nobody wants to go nuclear so we should rename the nuclear depository in Nevada that Harry Reid don't use nuclear waste dump turned into Underground Superdome. Also building super reservoirs for hydro causes CO2 from the rotting vegetation down below. Not all reservoirs are like the LA River where they're lined with concrete. I know right now the inventor of PayPal is improving Battery Technology Buy improving it with a billion dollar battery Factory. we have come Leaps and Bounds since 1970. We can do our part but we shouldn't bankrupt ourselves like Canada is going to do anyway. They decided to go to loan and lose whatever business Advantage they have because I'm going to spend billions in a pirate Victory 2% of the population is going to try to take the burden for the other 98% of the population in the meanwhile fires keep burning slash-and-burn in the Amazon and the second third and fourth world won't comply with the Kyoto Accords.
