What the article doesn't say is that the Canadians are probably racist toward their own indigenous people. I am married to an indigenous woman and she hates going shopping. She hates driving around in her Dodge Challenger because she gets dirty looks, she hates getting followed in stores by employees thinking she's going to steal like some gypsy. The Canadiens don't really care about their first Nations people. When she goes to California or anywhere else in the US, everybody thinks she's a Hispanic and she's treated with respect. In Canada, after she had an aneurysm and spent two weeks in the hospital, when she goes to the intake for mental health for those who suffered from aneurysms, they don't ask her what happened to her, they ask her does she have a car, does she have gas money does she need a taxi? They don't know or realize my wife has professional truck drivers license, that she is a destitute and she has her own minivan to drive home. Yes, there are a lot of who are natives who take advantage of Social Services due to being drugs and drug use, but my wife is sober does not smoke now and has to deal with racism by the so-called tolerant Canadians.

There are various court cases were indigenous people are killed in Cold Blood yet all-white juries acquit the murder. There are cases where there are missing and murdered Aboriginal woman in the police don't seem to care because I think it's another prostitute. Who cares? It doesn't matter if they were a prostitute or a person who was a street person, they were a human being!

My wife would like us to move back to the United States and get away from this racism and that is my plan to do so in the next 5 to 10 years. A good probable location maybe Las Vegas, Nevada. Nice and warm and where her arthritis won't flare up as much.
