I do not know if I like hearing this but as I read the Army Times article I get a sense this new socialist PM is trying to thread the "political needle" between being a world player and keeping his lefty promises. Unfortunately we can only be spectators and see what happens. Individually the Canadian Soldiers are as tough as their hockey players so we can count on them.

I sure hope the measures they have taken with their refugees works out. As to them stopping air operations the air space I'm sure is crowded and more dangerous with Russia putting in SAM sites. 6 planes not that big of a loss in the fight.

Canada's contribution to the bombing effort was IMO not much more than symbolic, but it was a big visible symbol to the terrorist Daesh and the rest of the ME dictatorships. No one knows for sure just which countries are contributing how many aircraft and what %age of the strikes against Daesh. To know for sure would probably be very disheartening to know that we,the US, are undoubtedly carrying 99% of the load. France does come to mind for good reason they have experienced Daesh first-hand in their own capitol and are getting the message. Canada may just be telling the truth to say that wear and tear on the 6 planes was having it's effect. Canada doesn't have much of a Fighter component to begin with and has a relatively small military budget to make room for welfare payments from the Socialist government. WikiPedia stated they have 73 F-18 remaining in service which were introduced in 1982.
