SGT Gregory Lawritson - First off, he's losing, I'm guessing Clinton will have between 300 and 350 electoral votes making your question purely hypothetical.

So if he does somehow win, I will consider it, but try to hold my nose and wait him out. If he orders something I just can't in good conscience follow, then yes. If he orders a unit I'm in to torture, sends us to a war provoked only by his ego, or uses the army as his deportation force then absolutely yes, I will retire immediately, and if not able to retire quickly enough will resign, and if that resignation isn't accepted I will disobey such orders as unlawful and take my chances.

Fortunately for my soldiers, I will try to wait him out, and use whatever position or voice I have to push back, but I will, under no circumstance, compromise my ethics or morals for a disgusting piece of filth like Trump. I will evaluate every order that comes from him with an extremely fine-toothed comb.

Unfortunately, I have too much invested to just walk away immediately. With 32 years of service and at 49-years-old, I will try hard to last 11 more years and two more promotions to retire at O-6 as that is a major part of my family retirement plan and a cretin like Trump shouldn't be able to take that away. If push comes to shove though, I will not cross the line to torture, racial profiling, targeting non-combatants or mass-deportations.

I've discussed Trump in depth with many O-6s and E-9s as well as with one O-8. I do so respectfully, but clearly. Most that I've spoken with share my view of him, but not all, but it was always kept professional and respectful up AND down the chain.
