Sales of the cannabis extract cannabidiol (CBD) have roughly doubled over the past two years in the UK. But some are concerned that CBD products are not all they claim to be.
Alongside reputable sellers, the rapid growth of the industry has attracted "CBD cowboys" - opportunists trying to make a quick profit - according to Mark Reinders, president of the European Hemp Industry Association.
There are two main compounds found in cannabis - CBD and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Unlike THC, CBD is legal, doesn't make you high and is easily available on high streets and online.
CBD is commonly found in the form of oil to be dropped under the tongue or e-liquids to be vaped. But - with the hype being helped along by celebrities like Kim Kardashian, who threw a CBD-themed baby shower in April - it has also found its way into products from lip balm to hummus, cappuccinos to sparkling water.
There are now an estimated quarter of a million regular users in the UK, turning to CBD to support general wellness, ease anxiety, sleep problems and chronic pain among other things.

My brother owns a CBD store in South Carolina. It is doing very well. He sells the oils, creams, lotions, candies, dog treats etc. He frimly believes in the product and will tell anyone it is not a cure for any disease or sickness. It helps with pain management and stuff like Anxiety and depression etc. He has had numerous customers that have come in as a last resort because nothing else worked. They are repeat customers and that is how he has built his business. He really enjoys helping people. He is retired AF ust like me and now he wanted a business and to be able to help folks and now he is doing both. I beleive in it. I haven't taken it but studies show CBD does help.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth So Far the Only Product I've Tried was the Roasterie's CBD Infused Cold Coffee. I Like Cold Coffee, It's Ok, a Bit Pricey but I Might Buy it Again. I Might Have to get some of the Cream for the Next Time I Break a Toe. I'm pretty good at doing that and it hurts like hell.
