Chaos Erupts In China, 18M Under Quarantine As Wuhan Virus Spreads "Feels Like The End Of The World." 9 cities in China are now on lock-down due to the rapid spread of the Wuhan Virus.
Nine towns and cities in China are now in lock-down while officials battle to stop the spread of the deadly new coronavirus. Major Chinese New Year events in Beijing have been cancelled, authorities in Ezhou have shut down train stations, and Huanggang has announced it will suspend public buses and trains.
The city at the center of the outbreak remains in lock-down, with all flights in and outbound cancelled, residents banned from leaving and scenes of chaos as desperate families fight for food supplies.
While this is likely not going to be that big of a deal China is taking it very seriously. Fears are escalating as the virus is spreading around the world.
The US as well as many southeast asian countries were hit by a few cases of the Wuhan Virus but for the most part it does seem to be over hyped by media.
One thing gaining attention online is the story from 2017 about a new Biolab in Wuhan and fears a pathogen could escape.
There is no evidence to suggest that is the case but many people are concerned nonetheless that this coronavirus will have a devastating impact.
China is famous for covering things like this up. The fact that it has now spread to so many countries suggests that this is more serious.

This virus is related to SARS, which cut quite a swath through Asia a few years back.
I don't think quarantine will work at this point - that horse has already left the barn. They should take common sense containment steps and work on treatment regimes.
