This guy seems to have joined for the wrong reason, or something changed him. Either way, officers ( all members even) should keep political and religious views out of the uniform. He also claims to speak on behalf of all rangers specifically.

A courts martial is taking it WAY too far. Common sense people.....just a little would work. Give him a counseling, have the CDR rip into his behind. Give him corrective training that involves the offense. The military has no "official" religion, maybe give a class on that and when wearing the uniform is appropriate and where it isn't. At the rate folks are being pushed out, maybe he'll be the next one, but not over this...unless it appears on his rating.

I won't beat around the bush-I personally think it's time we stop pretending the war between radical Islam and the West isn't about morality and the cultural significance of religion...it is. The West may be the land of freedom to be whatever you want to be, and the USA may be officially and ideologically "neutral" when it comes to matters of faith-but we're just being overly sensitive to fail to admit that we're fear from universal agreement on exactly what that means. What's the end game; a military where recruits have to sweat non-affiliation with religion?
Chaps shouldn't be promoting his book in uniform-whether it's about God or gardening. That said, if being a spiritual leader isn't what he's being paid for, then what is it? I for one am sick to death of the witch hunt-We may not be a "Christian" nation, but there's a whole bunch of Christians in the USA, to include our armed forces, and it's just poor strategy to oppose any reasonable action that links our faith to our duty as patriots.

This chaplain behavior is the beginning of a radical religious person, in this case one that claims Christianity. I met Jim Jones when he preached in my neighbor hood and this chaplain reminds me of how Jim started.
