Once rioting begins the possibility of additional loss of life increases. Cities are suffering enough from economic decline without the people living there destroying their neighborhoods and looting local businesses

This is where I call the BS squad. If it's justified, why riot? Now, I don't truly believe it's justified, but my opinion doesn't matter. Only facts do.

Of course not - justified shootings don't support the victim narrative. As well by rioting they are increasing the chance of violence and or death - yet bodies are in the streets.

Very conflicting message in using violence in seeking tolerance.

It was not justified and they lied about the gun (theres a video showing them planting the gun) but riots should never take place no matter what!

With all due respect those were gloves being dropped in the video - not a gun. The officer was putting on gloves to render aid to Mr. Scott. As well why would someone wear an empty ankle holster? This is how quickly a false narrative can spread. Not surprised the media is neglecting to inform the public that Mr. Scott effectively forfeited his right to carry a gun in 2005, when he was convicted in the shooting of a man in San Antonio and sentenced to prison. As well his wife applied for a protective order against him stating he owned a gun and had threatened to kill family members with it. “He has a 9mm and threatened to use it last night,” Ms. Scott wrote. “He does not have a permit, he is a felon.” In 2004 “My husband Keith Scott assaulted me several times by stabbing me in the back almost puncturing my lungs, he sliced me ear and bruised my body,” she wrote. So did she forget or was she lying in the video saying he doesn't have a gun? Mr. Scott was charged with a number of offenses including check fraud, aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon during the 90's. If we are going to investigate this how about we examine the integrity of all those involved.

Illegal drugs/illegal firearm/attempted murder/child abuse/physical assault of his wife - yet we assume the cops are the bad ones.
