When you can't lead you step aside and let someone else do it. I doubt she is just stepping aside and letting him help...there is an alternative motive here I believe.

She is a politician, IMO, this is a means of sharing the blame when the assistance doesn’t stop the killings. All she has to do is unfetter the thousands of CPD Officers. This has gone on for decades under multiple Democrat administrations. As long as it’s contained to the South and West side, no one cares. One can travel safely in most areas of Chicago.
