It's getting harder to comment on these because those who oppose the 2nd amendment keep making the same mistakes calling for legislation against law abiding citizens rather than going after the criminal element.

There’s dishonesty on both sides. The liberals act like a foregrip and collapsible stock make it more lethal. Conservatives act like civilian AR type models aren’t just as lethal as military rifles simply because of a selector switch which is hardly ever used. If I had an option between my Daniel defense rifle and my colts arms m4 I’d take my DD on a deployment every time. It’s virtually impossible to have an honest discussion about firearms at this point which is scary cuz our children are going to keep dying while we all argue about terminology.

Yep, but any weapon that uses the same cartridge will have similar lethality, and that includes weapons that use wood furniture.

SGT Steve McFarland agreed. Small things like magazine capacity make it able to put more rounds down range but doesn’t increase actual lethality. In order to solve the problem both sides have to talk about firearms honestly but as long as spread mistruths like “9mm blows the lungs out of the body” or “AR-15s aren’t weapons of war” we won’t go anywhere.

SPC David Willis We have to get it through their thick skulls that "AR" doesn't mean "assault rifle", and, BTW, MANY weapons have been, or are used, for both civilian and military purposes, including two-thirds of my pistols.

SGT Steve McFarland precisely my point. Glocks, sigs, colt pistols are all weapons of war. Shotguns are weapons of war. We need to just admit it and move on. Sure guns have hunting purposes and sport purposes but kalashnikov didn’t reinvent the wheel in 1947 simply to shoot deer in Russia. Firearms have, since black powder days, evolved to make killing more efficient. Doesn’t mean they should all be taken away but arguing semantics is a poor way to ensure our rights will be protected going forward.

LOL, “the high-powered assault rifle has been the weapon of choice for many of the killers.”
I wouldn't call the 5.56 a high power rifle, and the woman talking on ballistics is a joke as well, I'm going to guess the pistol bullet they showed was full metal jacket ammo, and not a defense round like most would carry.
