You might obviously suggest that the dog tags be sent to the POW/MOA unit, I'd read they're in Hawaii, I think, I should certainly think any family would want them and or could be found, also, you might ask for congressional help, to ensure they'd get to the right office to deal with it, I'd think, certainly , that, in lieu of physical remains, if heaven forbid, it was someone lost, I'd imagine dog tags might conceivably be deemed remains, perhaps, that's an interesting question, actually, I'd be curious if that might be deemed the case, if you ever find out, perhaps. Also, if, hopefully, the vet is not lost, then, thankfully, the tagsmcould be returned to the vet, or, still, to the family. I'd imagine NPRC in St Louis could also handle such a request, I also know there's a VA cemetery locator, that might also be searched, as well for the name on the tags, or the tags could also possibly be given to the VA Natl cemetery admin or NCA, perhaps, as well, just some thoughts, interesting problem, hope was of interest and or help, many thanks.
