He donated a million dollars to various organizations last year. And now you are ridiculing him helping to get food and water to a famine and drought stricken area. All because rather than organize large protest marches that could turn violent, he chose to call attention to his issue with a two minute silent protest that doesnt interfere with anyone elses activities. IOW he did exactly what the right wingers said BLM should do, and he still is a target of hate.

The truth is that if he hadnt sucked as a QB the last two years, and instead had done well or even average, teams would look past his protests in a heartbeat. Just as they do for domestic abusers and drug abusers. It's all aboutwinnng in the NFL, and if you can help a team win, then they talk about forgiveness and second chances. But if you aren't a player they think will help them win, then they cut you/dont hire you.

ALL of his donations and volunteering came after he began his protest, and almost certainly at the behest of his handlers who probably realized before he did the monumental mistake he'd made, at least with regards to his career. Therefore, it's mostly just disingenuous attempts to detract from that fiasco. Sorry. No pass here. As for your other point, it's true that he's had a couple of bad years, but he still has legs left in his career, or at least he would if he wasn't radioactive. Damned if I can find the article now, but there was a Bleacher report article by Mike Freeman that noted how unusual it is for someone of Kaepernick's caliber to be undrafted this far into the free agent season, and laid blame squarely on the controversy.
