Community honors military veterans with remembrance rocks

With Memorial Day close by, the Vet Center and the Louisiana National Guard wanted to start recognizing military veterans.

They held a memorial remembrance walk at Camp Beauregard, with a special activity planned.

Community members were invited to join them in painting rocks in honor of their loved ones who have served, or are serving, in the United States military.

Once decorated the rocks were placed along a trail next to a loved one's military emblem.

Coordinators said it was a unique way for people to honor the service of their family and friends.
