TSgt Joe C., I live less than 25 miles from Stones River National Battlefield. I was assigned to the 125th ARCOM (then in Nashville, but now inactivated). Three unit members were amateur, but incredibly knowledgeable military historians. One Saturday, they conducted a staff ride of the battlefield for all the headquarters personnel. It was an extraordinary and illuminating experience.

Thanks TSgt Joe C. for letting us know that on January 4, 1863 Confederate General Roger Weightman Hanson died at age 35 at Murfreesboro, Tennessee. His death was a result of wounds sustained two days earlier at the Battle of Stones River, Tennessee.
