S. I. Hayakawa wrote in "Language in Thought and Action" that there is no magic in words. I have argued with that statement ever since I first read it several decades ago. Apparently, the Left agrees with me. There is magic in words. Words can hurt. Words can heal. Words can create clarity or they can obscure. In law school, one lesson was drummed into us: Say what you mean and mean what you say. In other words, in court, you won't be judged by what you meant so much as by what you did or said. Well, in this presentation, we learn that the Left knows we won't be happy with what they mean, so they use words to obscure their intent.
