Corruption in Afghanistan offers lessons for billions going to Ukraine

We should look at how much actual cash is going compared to military equipment, i.e., American jobs.

We never learn from the past. Prior to Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula getting taken over by Russia, allegations of rampant corruption with the Ukrainian gov. were known and I suspect some of billions in US military aid are most likely ending up in someone’s personal bank account. But, when the enemy of our enemy needs money, you are correct: we never learn, regardless of how many safeguards are in place.
