Lot's of info. I've made my way through about a quarter of it so far. Two things stand out for me. 1) The recurring theme of de-radicalization; 2) The theme of "human
rights-compliant anti-terrorism". So far, I'm reading catch phrases with no definition attached, so I have to allow my imagination to run amok.
De-radicalization. How do you de-radicalize a mutant? My first comparative thought was how do you convince a Raiders fan that they should instead be rooting for the Redskins? I don't see an easy way to do it, though my fertile imagination can come up with de-programming methods that would have the libs clamoring for my permanent residence in St. Elizabeths alongside John Hinckley. Oh wait, Hinckley was released. Maybe I can get his old room.
What the hell is human rights compliant anti terrorism? Is it asking please don't trigger that murder vest? Is it asking at the border, Do you have any intention of causing us harm? No? Right, here is your EBT card and the keys to your apartment. Have a good life.
This phrase regarding EU citizens returning from Syria & Iraq after fighting for IS: "Harsh measures against returnees without differentiation about backgrounds and actual crimes committed might lead to further stigmatization." Huh?
I admit, I look at most things through a prism of black and white, with some gray. When it comes to things that threaten Life, Liberty and the American Way, I see no gray. Those that wish harm, be they gang bangers, drug runners or terrorists, would find it impossible to do harm from beyond the grave.

this is a serious and intense symposium or Conference...
Now if they can decide what to do about it ... like destroy it and them

George - - part of that is forcing the powers that be to understand that IS has many faces these days - and most of them are not the face that is waging the fight just in Mosul.... but to destroy them - you need to at least be able to know your enemy better than they know you..
