Regarding this particular article, I agree that the services should not punish anyone before their religious exemption requests are resolved. Once they are resolved, and if the exemptions are not granted, the service member needs to comply or find a new vocation. Vaccines are a long-standing, proven way to help protect our force stateside and abroad, and they enable us to project a healthy force to many regions of the world where viral and bacterial threats exist. Troops can't cherry-pick their vaccinations.

I would also imagine getting a religious waiver with this vaccine in mind could hinder the soldiers ability to obtain other types of healthcare to which the waiver would have to apply to or the waiver would be void and back to square one.

SPC David Willis - Also true. No cherry-picking where/how their religious beliefs apply (regarding their health and their military career). It must be applied consistently.
