I am surprised because in Oct. 1978 I was fired from General Tire and Rubber co. for keeping God's Sabbath day. I lost a case against them and ruling stated that the Civil rights Act of 1964 stated that if a company could prove that it cost them money to accommodate Religion they didn't have to. So in court they paraded the employees I worked with across the witness stand and they testified that if they work for me on the Sabbath Saturday that they would not be able to do their job correctly. Therefore the company argued it would cost them money in tires or rubber not be checked properly as I worked in the lab as a tech. I have never ask any of them why the company didn't threaten them with being fired for threating to not do their job. correctly. Go figure.
