Thanks TSgt Joe C. for reminding us that on May 19, 1836 during a raid by Comanche, Kiowa, and Caddo Indians in Texas they killed her family and kidnapped nine-year-old Cynthia Ann Parker.

TSgt Joe C., Cynthia Ann Parker was both a remarkable and sad person. She enjoyed her life with the Comanche people as the article describes. This photo shows her with her daughter, Prairie Flower who died of influenza while in "captivity" with her white relatives. Also shown is her son, Quanah (two photos), who rose to prominence and wealth and was the person "who finally surrendered and peaceably led the Quahadi band [of the Comanche people] to the reservation at Fort Sill, Oklahoma."
