Flying Ethiopian Air to Addis Ababa. The flight made an unscheduled stop in the middle of nowhere. Soldiers came on board and put a bundle wrapped in brown paper that weighed about 10 kilos in every passengers lap and told us that if our package was opened or damaged when we arrived in Addis Ababa, we would be killed.

Once we took off, the lady sitting next to me explained. It was khat, a local low grade narcotic plant that some chew to get high.

Reminds me of a former sister-in-law whose uncle was a moonshiner. The Maryland State Police handled delivery

On a recent flight from Dublin Ireland to Chicago, one of the lavatories has urine everywhere. It was a lot too! If the plane had banked just a few degrees to the left it could have spilled over the door frame lip. I decided to hold it a little longer and wait for the next available lavatory.

When I finally retired, I had accumulated over 1,000,000 miles in the air. Never had any problems that I recall. Pre flight and changing planes on the other hand. Many hours in airports.
