Dallas Cowboys take knee, then stand with arms locked for anthem

MSgt (Join to see) - The Flag and the country do not do this. A small number of folks...mostly white do this...the percentage of folks who do this is a small fraction of the total population of the UNITED STATES. IT IS BOLOGNA!

MAJ James Woods - His reasoning is full of it...because it is neither the FLAG nor the country who "OPPRESSES BLACKS." It is a SMALL...MINUTE...FRACTION of the population in the US that have issues with the BLACKS....The MAJORITY of the folks in the US are not this way...

Sgt Kelli Mays - 1. In your opinion it's a small fraction of the population that oppresses Blacks however for American Blacks that's neither our perception or reality. 2. The flag represents a country that is founded on a document that invokes freedom and equality for all; to say I love my country and flag but kneel to acknowledge we are not living up to what it all represents because of Americans in this country using laws, influence and position of power to distort what our flag, country, and Constitution represents is a freedom. The irony to say a majority of Americans believe in freedom yet here we are saying who, when, where, how one can express some of those freedoms because it offends you. It offends me every time I see Nazis or Confederates marching and speaking but I have to respect their freedom to do so. Lets not speak for others cause your view of America is limited to your experiences only. If the majority truly feel as you say, we wouldn't be having such divisive debates today on all the inequality issues for minorities, religious groups, gender identity, women, and immigrants.

Sgt Kelli Mays - One more thing Sgt Mays, this whole White America makes up most of the racism and prejudice in the country is as you say "bologna". Hispanics, Asians, Native American, Arabs, Blacks are all guilty of it. The oppressive nature of regulations, laws, and court rulings viewed as oppressive do fall into that fault of decades of predominantly White government systems and can be argued not much has been done without progressive movements like this.

SSG Warren Swan - So you are totally missing my point for this post....my point was....the media tried to make it seem and blatantly lied that the cowboys kneeled during the Anthem, but they really didn't....so I went two days totally not liking the cowboys because of what was reported on CNN and then to come to find out...it wasn't true. Sgt Kelli Mays - Actually the media I've seen covering every game went out of their way to ensure we understood what teams did before, during and after. If one source falsely portrayed Cowboys kneeling during anthem, criticize the source but not all media sources at the time of coverage was reporting that.
As for SSG Warren Swan 's point we do a lot of things that are hypocritical when it comes to the flag and national anthem that get overlooked as it has become acceptable socially.

Sgt Kelli Mays - All the new source reports I saw clearly stated that the cowboys locked arms and knelt before the anthem and then stood during. Now I saw Facebook posts from angry folk that tried to enrage other angry folk by misrepresenting the story. Looks like it worked to an extent at least for a little while of course.

The media is a WMD! It's amazing how much decent/damage they can cause when propagating fake news.
