That is a very good question, though some would say cheating is cheating. I guess it really depends on what is being "cheated". Any amount of cheating on your wife will get you killed. Cheating as far as asking what will be asked during a Sailor of the Year board, to each their own - though I always preferred to go in blind.

In our Community IT2 we accept it as a Given. Good OPDEC is part of Good OPSEC. We have to sift thru the Propaganda of our Enemies to get those occasional nuggets of Truth.

How Many times have we spouted our Unclassified Mission Statement knowing it is pure unadulterated Bullshit?

How many Lies have we imprinted into our Security Folks that Protect our Classified Missions? Oh Yeah Been there, Done That. Not that long ago I had to apologize for an OPDEC Operation to a Marine that Protected what I was doing.

I was taught not to cheat PO1 William "Chip" Nagel, what's the benefit of it? I'd agree with what ENS (Join to see) said below, pretty accurate.

It was Inherit in my Business as a Navy Spook. Black and White had little to nothing to do with my world in the Military. Actually the total and complete truth was our Enemy. Everything I did had a Unclassified Mission Statement (A Lie) and the Classified Mission Statement (Which you didn't have the Need to Know, Even if you are protecting me and my Mission).
