Dangerous high surf pummels California coast and attracts surfers

California is on high alert as dangerous high tides threaten coastal areas. The National Weather Service issued a high surf warning with forecasts predicting waves up to 30ft (9m). While officials are urging people to keep out of the water, the big waves are attracting some surfers.
