Between scientific research in training techniques, how educated trainers and coaches are these days, and advances in nutrition and supplements, athletes are bigger faster and stronger. I get what he was saying with regards to technological advances within the actual event contributing and expansion to demographics that wouldn't get to compete prior, but I think as a whole he's suiting the discussion to fit his argument. He's provoking discussion, but I still think today's athletes in a whole are considerably better than ever.

I think they are because of all the technology they have today. But better??? That im not so sure, ESPECIALLY the centers today. They dont hold a candle to the centers 25 or more years ago

I think that medical technology is in fact increasing, and from what I've read there's also a higher incidence of steroid and HGH usage.
