The same day that President Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un held their historic summit in Singapore, several U.S. politicians and officials attended another, far less heralded ceremony just to the north on Tuesday: It was the dedication of a ritzy new complex for the American Institute in Taiwan, or AIT — and China wasn't happy about it.

Wow! This event was totally drowned out by the NK Summit storylines and yet this is indeed important, significant, and can have consequences.

Taiwan has been a nation for almost 70 years and Wee recognized them before either of US was born. Catalonia has not been independent for centuries. We we dump to play China silly game in the 70s and dumb to do so now. I have to side with the admistration on this one.

I juse to not think that we cannot fix thwe horrendous mistake we made in 72. Acting in defence of democracy is supposed to be one of our core values as a nation.
