I think this title should be amended to: "Dear Celebrities: No One Cares What You Think Unless You Think The Same Things I Do." There are plenty of instances on RP where someone will condemn a celebrity for voicing an opinion they disagree with and then celebrate a celebrity with an opinion that they agree with.

I will also say that my comment does not apply to you, Sir.

Well, I appreciate the caveat, but have rarely seen anyone agree with an celebrity actor, singer, dancer, artist, designer, etc. There are some celebrity scientists, doctors, etc and I suppose I might find reason to agree with one of those. But, come to think of it, haven't. Now, I've been told that the presenter in this video is a Youtube celebrity. To be fair, I never thought of such a thing. There are celebrity commentators and I have agreed with some of those on occasion, but never universally. Most commentators are one trick ponies. They develop a theme and attempt to apply it to all circumstances. That never really works, does it? I guess this presenter is one of those?

When you have pampered elites that have no idea of how the average citizen lives, pretends to be someone other they are not for a living, someone writing the words they speak and have a group of professionals telling them how to talk and act, that’s not who I plan to listen to for advice of any type. It speaks volumes about those that do.

CPT Jack Durish - Yes PragerU is an organization with it's own website and utilizes social media like YouTube and Facebook to post their videos. Some presentations by average people and others by individuals with credentials or a title they used to label their expertise on a subject. It's commentary with a right wing slant.
So conservative celebrities are the scant minority; thus, are you suggesting it's okay for them to have a platform outside of Hollywood but Hollywood needs to be ignored? I don't watch awards shows; I prefer just reading the list of winners the next day for non-political small talk with coworkers.
I'll say it again, if a person is going to say this celebrity shouldn't take a public platform about liberal politics then that same person should be open to saying the same thing about a celebrity and a conservative platform. In fact, make the rule apply to all high profile public figures (CEOs, Reality Talk Show hosts, Radio personalities, etc.); who are any of them to tell us why we should vote one way or the other.
One last thing, if a Conservative wins an award at one of these events, they should feel free to say what they want to say. If those liberal elites chastise him/her for doing so then it further makes your point. But I get it. Both sides need their safe space; Liberals have their venues and Conservatives have theirs. "Actors tend to be chameleons putting on and taking off personalities and thoughts created by others." Well that's called acting. A salesmen tells you what you want to hear to make a sale regardless the risk, ethics, and the company's motives. Well that's called business.

MAJ (Join to see) - As I stated, the objective view point would be advocating muting the opinions of all high profile public figures regardless of their liberal or conservative stance. So tired of this view that only one side is guilty of this behavior.

MAJ James Woods - Absolutely not. To be fair, I'd rather speak to the audience of these celebrities in hopes of waking them from their mindless stupor. Sadly, that seems impossible. There will always be a segment of every population that will surrender their freedom of thought for the comfort of milling about in the herd (group think). Thus, the presenter in this video as well as I are simply venting our frustration with those who are incapable of thinking for themselves and those who think that their celebrity confers special knowledge. Sorry if this annoys you. I'm sure you have your pet peeves too

Jack, you're correct that our society is failing due to tribalism and group think. It's not limited to one side or the other but includes those on both sides. I also follow CPAC and it was disappointing that many in audience couldn't handle a well known Republican often invited guest speaker that offered any degree of criticism of Trump administration or recent GOP endorsed policies and agenda. I'm not sorry if it bothers you that the political opinions of Beyoncé or Lady Gaga is equivalent to the political opinions of Clint Eastwood, Jason Aldean, and Ted Nugent. If all their fans embrace their rhetoric then yeah they embrace the 'mindless stupor' of group think that you mentioned. Have a good day. By the way, I love Clint Eastwood movies...his personal views don't keep me from watching his movies no more than Charlton Heston's NRA views ever stopped me from enjoying his movies. Have a good day, Jack.
