Remember the old saying about how to eat an elephant, Keith. One bite at a time, some of these will take some time to fix. given his CEO experience, I would expect him to pick off some low hanging fruit and they do the yoeman's work of fixing the more serious issues. So far, it appears he will select department heads that are capable and provide the direction for them to act upon. My vote is to replace that jerk Carter and the Mabus with someone that can repair the damage done and planned for the Navy.

Concur, Roger. We need new blood in the Pentagon, despite the fact Obama went through four SECDEFs in eight years. It'll be interesting to see who's tapped as SECDEF, SECNAV, et al. By the same token, I wonder if McDonald will be asked to stay on at DVA, although I have my doubts. If Trump wants to build up the Navy as much as he says, that could create more leadership opportunities (and challenges) for our officers and enlistedk personnel. It will cost a lot of money and take a lot of time, and we might take that time to tighten up the procurement and acquisition processes which themselves need a closer look, too.

CPO Greg Frazho - Hopefully we'll have eight years for him to accomplish all his missions, and pull our country together.

No matter what happens, and I hope it's change for the better, the Trump Administration will need to reach out to and, most importantly, work with Congress, for there to be true cooperation and progress. That's something that's been sorely lacking these last several years. While the GOP has majorities in both chambers, the majority in the Senate is slim and the majority in the House isn't as much as it was two years ago. All of these things will factor into that calculus, including his selection for the Supreme Court, something I strongly suspect will be very divisive and very controversial.

CPO Greg Frazho, I hope Trump has learned a lesson from Obama, in that he must work with congress, and it doesn't have to be his way all the time like it is with Obama. That's the sign of a good President when they are willing to work, and get ideas from others, Republican or Democrat. He said he wants to bring America together. Let's see if he can walk the walk.

That will have to be his methodology, especially at first, or he's going to find himself politically isolated rather quickly.
