Defending the Mekong Delta: Tet and the Legacy of the Brown-Water Navy

Those guys were my heroes.

This story caught my attention on several levels. I tried to enlist in the Navy to serve in the Brown Water Navy inasmuch as I had grown up sailing the shallow and myriad waterways of the Chesapeake Bay and earned my Coast Guard License before serving. But the Navy stalled on processing my paperwork and I ended up in the Army where I served with the 9th Infantry Division which you'll learn in this story was deployed with the Brown Water Navy in Vietnam.
