Thank you, my friend PO1 William "Chip" Nagel for posting the perspective that decades after France was evicted from former French Indochina following the defeat of French foreign legion forces at Dien Bien Phu in 1954, the former colonial master and the former colony are working to reestablish a relationship fitting into the milieu of the 21st century.

LTC Stephen F. I would think that there are still quite a few French speakers in Vietnam, Old Folks from the Colonial Period and just like the US I'm sure Vietnam has made a Good Tourist Industry with the French.
