For what was Mr. Villavicencio's original 2009 deportation order? Why was it not executed? Was he not afforded a hearing then? None of these items are addressed in the article.

If Mr. Villavicencio "skipped out," I think he should get the same consideration a bail jumper gets; NONE. So what if he built a life for himself since then? He did so "on the run." Should we forgive fugitives from the law if only they run long enough? His life is not a matter of mitigation or extenuation. He may be a scoff law. That makes "the life he built for himself" an aggravating factor in my book. It is time to stop feeling sympathy for those who violate our laws.

What kind of idiot uses the case of a convicted drug dealer (Mr. Cardona) to attempt to arouse sympathy. I have heard no reason to not show them both the door.

Maj John Bell – Good CCIRs (Command Critical Information Requirements) I'm unable to answer at the moment, It wouldn't surprise me a bit if the judge who granted the stay could answer them. Sir. Thanks for putting question on my radar though.

Removal was for illegal presence and he was granted a Voluntary Departure, which can only be granted under specific circumstances. If he would have left, it doesn't count as an official removal (or deportation) and he could have waited 3 years, and possibly less, to apply for some sort of visa to come back legally. Because he defaulted, now he faces a 10 year ban from returning. Voluntary departures are only granted when the person concedes he is here unlawfully, so he would have had to have a hearing at some point back then. Under Obama, nothing would have been done because of his specific circumstances, but under the current administration everything has changed and the law is being followed. It is possible his warrant could have been taken out of the system for awhile, and then re-entered once Trump was elected. We took out thousands of Removal Warrants because of Obama policies only to turn around and put thousands of them back in because of new policies; or rather the enforcement of immigration law. There are lot of illegals that were encountered under Obama policies that were turned loose and many of them have become over confident because of this, and now when they get encountered, they are taken into custody. I feel bad for his family, but had he left when he was supposed to, there would not be a wife and kids to even be considered.
