I agree we should have a memorial for DS/DS - it was different than our current fight. Somehow, the cease fire date didn't seem like the end though. VII Corps left its gear behind as POMCUS-like stocks, and we went home to go elsewhere.

It was amazing that the Pentagon had no events to mark the day. Sad shape...not the way to make future troops be inspired.

They actually did have a short program but it was held at the Pentagon and so had a limited audience. I viewed it online, it seemed as if it were thrown together rather quickly, had very little excitement of any kind and felt more like a briefing. I think it lasted under 30 minutes. So to your point, yes, it is sad, and they may as well not had anything.
