The headline is misleading. Stock prices are not the same at sales (actual purchases made by customers). I would say that it’s a little too early to tell whether their anti-gun stance will hurt them or not. Give it 6 months.

Just like when Target came out "in support of trans shoppers". Stock prices and sales went down, not out of business but took a huge licking. Give it six months.

I think the CEO's main point was they expected a huge backlash of boycotts and negative media that would have 1st and 2nd Quarter earning fall short of expectations. Now they feel more confident about their decision and aren't worried about their major shareholders for now.

In the big scheme of things who really cares what they do, no matter which way they go they will have folks boycotting them. I for one don't shop there and a few other places like them because they sell over priced garbage. People go to places they like and places the sell for a fair price. Dicks never sold "ASSUALT Rifles so that's a wasted qualifier.
