If you click through the story and look at the cited report, you'll see that no analysis was done on the patients who weren't treated with hydroxychloroquine. So, what is the basis of comparison for the 90%? Do the patients in the control group improve at a higher rate? Or at a lower rate? Or does no difference exist? 90% is just a number, and you can't interpret it without a benchmark. That's why the results of the ongoing studies are needed before using this en masse.
