I suppose as aircraft get more and more expensive that would raise to level of just how much the damage and the dollar amount are even current. For instance something that may have only cost $10,000 years ago may be $100,000 now even though the actual damage isn't more. Should that have an adjustment to catch up with current prices ? Deaths and injuries though would be a whole other area. Maybe some adjustments are in order depending on the being value, injury or loss of the aircraft or major component damage.
