SPC Kevin Ford concur with the vetting concerns, but weigh in on the side of assisting the homeless...the companies had to have thought of supervision or other ways to mitigate obvious concerns!

For me, I'd have to know more about the relationship between the startup and the people they are bringing in. If the compensation is such that these people have a real chance to pull themselves out of their homeless situation, then this would feel pretty good to me. On the other hand if the compensation is so low compared to expenses that they have no real way out of their homeless situation and spend all of their time doing this for a few fast food meals, then this would feel more like exploitation.

For example, I wonder about whatever uniform/equipment they have. Are they paying for that? If so, for homeless people that probably means borrowing from the company with the promise of working to pay for it. That sort of arrangement has a very bleak history associated with it.

Like I said, still torn, would want to know more.
