I just read that the original setting for the show was about the Korean war, but soon afterwards it was taken to be Viet Nam...

PFC David Foster - Actually ALL the episodes were about Korea and NOT Vietnam. The reference to Vietnam however was many of the MASH episodes were filmed while the Vietnam war was in progress but NOT about Vietnam in any episode of the series . I actually did check that to see if that was possible and it proved not to have happened. The fianl episode, which was still about Korea was at that time one of the most watch on TV for the day its broadcast aired.

PFC David Foster - No problem, though I'd check it before I made a comment just in case something was broadcast and I hadn't seen it. Before the series MASH had ever aired I actually had seen the original movie that appeared in the theater also which was also very good. I had seen it a few times after when it was shown on TV as well. I know from Vietnam where helicopter's in rescue and medical evacuations had come a long way since the Korean War with what they learned from the Korean War and experience in that area, advanced upon and improved. I did get to see at least some segments of that in Vietnam during My time there in 1968-69
