Or less spectacularly if the feds get Apple's source code and it "leaks" thereby ruining their main source of business. Quite frankly the US government couldn't afford the damage award (and is almost 100% guaranteed to have someone someplace in the system who will think that it's a giggle to dump Apple's proprietary software out onto the internet).
