When Whoopi and Ted Samson were an item, he was in blackface at a party the two attended. I don't know how that would reflect on her, but she seemed ok with it at the time.

The thing is shortly after Danson was exposed, he and Goldberg broke up even though she didn't express any animosity towards his display. At least publicly. So, I would say she's wrongly defending her co host.
