1/20/2017 Inauguration day Update on the status of the names of the people who have been officially nominated for government positions which require Senate confirmation the day President Donald Trump is inaugurated:
So far of the 690 positions 30 have been announced with 2 have been confirmed yet.
This afternoon:

2. Retired General John F. Kelly was confirmed as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security
Names have been submitted for each cabinet position.
Yesterday Robert Wood Johnson was nominated for Ambassador, United Kingdom
It is typical to wait until after the Secretary of the Department has been confirmed before submitting the names for under and assistant secretary etc.
Ambassadors to the most "significant" nations can be expected to submitted after Secretary of state has been confirmed. Other ambassadors may well be continued for some time.

Interestingly enough to me is that the Washington post has modified their statement of 690 positions requiring Senate confirmation to roughly 1200 "The Post and Partnership for Public Service, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, are tracking nearly 700 key executive branch nominations through the confirmation process. These positions include Cabinet secretaries, deputy and assistant secretaries, chief financial officers, general counsel, heads of agencies, ambassadors and other critical leadership positions. These are among the roughly 1,200 positions that require Senate confirmation."
