It's definitely a double standard just for the simple fact that she is a politician and a former First Lady. When I was in, I knew a Staff Sergeant who got burned just for accidentally using the wrong copy machine for a classified document! He did not get a chance for a hearing or anything just burned. Another example of how politicians usually get away with anything.

Check out these links for two articles showing persons military and civilian who have been prosecuted for mishandling information. In the case of the Marine Corps Major, the information was on his personal computer under order of his commander. When he left the theater, not all of the classified data got deleted. He later shared some old, not particularly sensitive information with Marines that were in-theater, information that was vital for those Marines for their safety. He openly reported it to his commander, didn't hide anything. Gets the boot....

Exactly! He chose his concern for his fellow Marines in Afghanistan over concern for himself or being fried over a mishandling classified information issue! This guy embodied the idea of Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful)!

No not a double standard. Because an administrative action is being levied on the Major, just like Director Comey recommended. Now if no administrative action is taken against the former SECSTATE and her staff, then that would be a double standard

Oh, well that's totally different. He is being given even less of an opportunity to avoid being fired. Lucky Major!

Exactly. If you watch the House Committee for Oversight & Govt. Reform hearing of the Director, he makes it more clear than in his announcement that they don't recommend CRIMINAL prosecution. Administrative action is going to have to come from another govt. department as he made it clear this was not a function of the FBI. Most of the examples provided of other breaches of security have had administrative action taken and not criminal.

Sgt Joseph Baker - The State department had opened up an investigation to potentially revoke security clearances as of today. We will see what happens.
