This is a much more accessible video (I had a hard time understanding the one used to open this discussion). I don't expect anyone to listen to this whole thing as I did, so let me summarize it. Much of the trouble we find ourselves in these day can be laid at the feet of education, and its failure to educate our future citizens (many now current citizens) in basic civics. (No argument from me on that one) Sadly, that which passes for civics education today is propaganda without any effort of disguising it as anything other than propaganda. (Okay, that is largely my opinion) There's much more to unpack and I have little hope that many will be encouraged to read his book, so let me offer my own solution, a very simple one: Citizens must take responsibility for those rights they exercise.
